Being an avid fan of football, nothing beats an action-packed game.

Then I asked myself if it would be possible to better predict the outcome of shooting chances in a game.

I decided to give it a serious try and develop an AI model that could actively track player distances in real time. And Forward School’s Applied Deep Learning Bootcamp was my starting point to my journey into Deep Learning.

During the bootcamp, from obtaining real industrial insights to the hands-on exercises we had with the trainers, it was an intensive, jam-packed 2 months. However, super rewarding.

One of the highlights for me was that I had the chance to learn and interact with industry professionals who were leaders in their fields. The level of interaction that was involved was something that I really enjoyed because it meant I always had the chance to ask more about the field and gain a deeper understanding of deep learning.

The physical interaction involved was definitely far superior to any online course that one would come across.

Now, I’m a Junior Deep Learning Engineer in Skymind based in Kuala Lumpur. My work involves developing solutions for real-world problems using Deep Learning as well as running experiments to improve model performance. I look forward to learning about other implementations of deep learning into real life scenarios in the future.
